Legal Assistant
Job Summary
We are looking for a self-motivated Legal Assistant to ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management. As a legal assistant, you will be tasked with a variety of duties that includes but not limited to conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining and organizing files, preparing and conducting meetings, preparing and ensuring matters are ready and complete for litigation, conducting hearings and trials. You will be required to use innovative technology which includes a case management software.
The Job Description includes but are not limited to:-
• to prepare legal research on behalf of the firm
• to draft and/or review relevant cause papers, opinions and any other relevant legal documents related to ongoing civil litigation files;
• to attend meetings with the firm’s client(s);
• to ensure a good relationship is maintained with both the firm’s clients and other relevant third parties;
• to manage and update all ongoing matters within the firm;
• to attend to case managements and hearings both physically and virtually; and
• to perform any other relevant duties assigned by the firm from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Possess valid legal practicing certificate.
• Possess excellent command of both English and Bahasa Malaysia language (both written and spoken).
• Flexible to travel as required and possess own transport
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.,
• Able to take responsibilities and is committed to performance and positive work attitude.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• Good analytical skills.
• Must be able to keep up to KPI’s set by the firm and unsure KPI’s are met.
• Well versed with personal injury claims and other areas of civil litigation
• Accept the role of technology as a vital key for efficient work performance
