Job Description: Legal Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle litigation or conveyancing files (depending on the firm’s practice area).
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents (agreements, contracts, affidavits, pleadings, etc.).
- Conduct legal research and prepare submissions and arguments.
- Attend court for case management, hearings, and trials.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, solicitors, authorities, and courts.
- Prepare case/folder updates and reports for supervising lawyers / partners.
- Ensure all tasks and deadlines are met efficiently.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized university.
- Called to the Bar / valid practicing certificate (if applicable).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Malay.
- Proficient in legal research, drafting, and court procedures.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with good time management under pressure.
Job Description: Pupil / Chambering Student
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lawyers in drafting legal documents, affidavits, agreements, letters, and cause papers.
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries or legal opinions.
- Attend court, land office, government agencies, and other authorities with or on behalf of lawyers.
- Manage filing of documents including e-filing with the court.
- Learn and assist in handling client files from start to completion under supervision.
- Support general administrative tasks of the firm when required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or equivalent, eligible for pupillage.
- Good command of English and Malay (both spoken and written).
- Diligent, disciplined, and able to follow instructions well.
- Interest in litigation, conveyancing, or corporate law (depending on the firm’s practice).
- Willing to work beyond office hours when required and observe professional ethics.
