- Preparing letters and legal documents, answering / screening telephone calls, and taking messages (when necessary)
- Schedule appointments and organizing meeting arrangements
- Maintaining an efficient filing system, administrating a KIV system, monitoring work schedule and meeting deadlines
- Preparing travel and other claims, preparing bills and monitoring collections
- Arranging and compiling all pre-trial documents, appeal records etc., preparing of bundle of documents / authorities to be filed in court
- Liasing with clients, court clerk or registrar and/or other law firms on court dates, filing / extraction of court documents, etc.
- Maintaining and monitoring court diary
- Any other duties/responsibilities as instructed
- Preparing status reports for clients and/or lawyers of the firm
- Preparing litigation cause papers/court documents as instructed by the lawyer, and preparing files for court.
- With minimum of 2 to 3 years of working experience in a law firm environment in relation to civil litigation practice and secretarial duties
- Good command of English Language and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken
- Competent in MS office and able to type correspondences and all forms of documentation with accuracy and speed
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, disciplined, owns transport, flexible working hours (if need be)
- Eager to learn, preferably single and without children
- Proactive, self-initiative
- Meticulous and neat
- Basic file management skills is a must
- Basic knowledge in civil litigation is a must
- Able to take instructions from the lawyers
- Good attitude
